If you are interested in traveling from the vibrant noise of cities to the silence of nature, then this is the place for you! Look at my photos taken while adventuring to distant countries and immerse yourself in the magic of the unknown world!

On January 20, 2024, we traveled to Zakopane (Poland). The High Tatras are located on the south side of the city. The cable car from the town takes you up to the Kasprowy peak, which is 1,987 meters above sea level. From here we climbed even higher to a smaller elevation which is at 2036 meters. The weather was wonderful, the frozen snow almost sparkled in the bright sunshine.

I visited Zakopane in January 2024.

Zakopane, a resort town in the Polish Tatra Mountains, is famous for its beautiful mountain scenery, traditional mountain architecture and winter sports. The city has a fascinating environment that allows for both active recreation and relaxation.

The famous Krupówki pedestrian street in the center of the city is a popular meeting place for tourists and locals. Many restaurants, cafes, shops and craft markets await visitors here. Exploring the smaller streets branching off from Krupówki Street, visitors will find many traditional shops, craft workshops and shops selling local products.

There are many attractions around Zakopane that fascinate visitors. Kasprowy Wierch, a popular mountain peak and ski slope for winter sports enthusiasts, is easily accessible from the city. From the top of the hill you can see a beautiful panorama of the Tatra Mountains.

To the south of Kasprowy Wierch is Morskie Oko, which is the largest and best-known lake in the Tatras. This picturesque lake is a wonderful natural attraction that is easily accessible by hiking or horseback riding.

For winter sports enthusiasts, the Zakopane area offers many opportunities, such as skiing, snowboarding and sledding. In the summer, the many hiking trails and climbing opportunities in the mountains offer challenge and fun to those looking for active recreation.

Zakopane's traditional culture is characterized by local folk costumes, traditional village architecture and mountain cuisine, which offers rich and tasty dishes such as brynza cheese and a traditional pasta called strapacska.

Finally, Zakopane's famous events include traditional mountain fairs, winter sports competitions and folk culture events that allow visitors to get a closer look at the cultural heritage of the city and its surroundings.

Postojna and Predjama Castle in Slovenia

Slovenia has amazing natural treasures, and one of the most famous of them is the Postojna Stalactite Cave. This impressive cave system is one of the wonders of karst geography and extends underground for more than 24 kilometers. The cave consists of huge natural chambers, gorges and stalactite formations formed over centuries by the slow action of water and calcium carbonate.
Entering the Postojna cave is a breathtaking experience, as one dives deeper underground and discovers the wonders of nature. Visitors are also served by a railway leading deep into the cave, which offers a unique experience of getting to know the special atmosphere of the cave.

In addition to seeing the attractions of the cave, the area also offers many other tourist attractions. For example, Postojna Castle, located next to the cave, is another site of historical and cultural importance worth exploring. The area is rich in natural beauty, including beautiful forests and hills, ideal for hiking and nature walks.
The Postojna Stalactite Cave and its surroundings are a place that enchants and inspires visitors, while providing an opportunity to discover the wonders of nature and experience experiences that cannot be found anywhere else. This unique natural treasure is a true gem of Slovenia's cultural and natural heritage.
